Four Card Sets for Your Coaching Sessions

The Coaching Starter Bundle gives you 244 cards for four topics that come up in almost every session: how your client feels, what matters to them, what they are good at, and what holds them back.

Every set comes with product literature and methods, so you can bring the cards into your next session without extra preparation. Use one set at a time, or combine them: start with emotions, look at values and strengths, then work on the beliefs that stand in the way.

  • deep pictures "World of Emotions" Compact Picture Cards: 52 picture cards for the start of a session. Your client picks the picture that shows how they feel right now. A picture helps clients talk about feelings they can't name yet.
  • "What Really Matters!" Values Cards: 80 values in 9 color-coded categories, based on Shalom H. Schwartz's research on basic human values. Each card has a definition on the back. Clients sort the cards to find their core values and see what drives their decisions.
  • "Stronger You" Strengths Cards: 52 strengths in 3 areas of life, each with an icon and an image. Use them for resource-focused conversations, when a client needs to see what they already bring. Includes 3 methods.
  • "My Beliefs" Cards: 60 limiting beliefs in 5 domains inspired by Schema Therapy, from "Doubting Myself" to "The Inner Critic". Clients pick the beliefs that hit home, reflect on their impact, and look for other perspectives. Includes 4 structured methods. (Available in English and German)

Get all four sets together and save 10%. Only available in English and German language.

Four card sets for your coaching sessions

Emotions, values, strengths and beliefs in one bundle

Most coaching sessions touch four questions: How does my client feel? What matters to them? What are they good at? What holds them back? This bundle gives you one card set for each question, 244 cards in total, with methods for each set.

World of Emotions

Your client picks a picture for how they feel. Use it at the start of a session, or when a client struggles to put a feeling into words.

What Really Matters!

Clients sort the values and choose their top five. Use it when a client faces a decision or feels that their life is out of balance.

Stronger You

Clients find the strengths they use every day. Use it when a client doubts themselves or overlooks what they already do well.

My Beliefs

Clients find the sentences their inner critic repeats. Use it when a client sees the next step but does not take it.

What it helps with

"I don't know how I feel."

A picture gives the client a starting point. They describe the image first, then their feeling.

"I can't decide."

Values show what each option means for the client. The decision gets easier when they know what matters most

"I'm not good enough."

Strengths cards give the client words for what they bring. Seeing it on a card is easier than saying it about yourself.

"I always hold myself back."

Belief cards make the pattern visible. Once the client can point to a sentence, you can work with it.

Sample method, one session with all four sets

  1. Check in (World of Emotions): Spread the picture cards out. Ask: "Which picture shows how you feel about your topic right now?" Let your client describe the picture, then their feeling.
  2. Find what matters (What Really Matters!): Ask your client to sort the values cards into "very important", "important" and "less important", then pick their top five. Ask: "Which of these values does your topic touch?"
  3. Name the resources (Stronger You): Ask your client to choose three strengths they already use. Ask: "When did this strength help you before? How can it help you now?"
  4. Shift the belief (My Beliefs): Ask your client to pick the belief that stops them most. Ask: "Where does this sentence come from? What would you say to a friend who believes it?" End with one small next step, chosen with their values and strengths in mind.

What the users say

I got myself a set of deep pictures for the 30th edition of BEST’s Trainer Camp where we trained a new generation of soft-skill trainers. Over 12 days, we were able to use the cards in all sorts of situations, be it in training sessions for reflecting upon experiences, for retrospectives at the end of each day or for stimulating thoughts during individual coaching. The highlight for our participants was, of course, that at the end of the event everyone could take home a card with the personal greetings of their fellow participants.

In systemic counseling, great emphasis is placed on action and doing – the client does not 'lie on the couch' and put their innermost thoughts into words. Instead, the goal is to use vivid methods to explore problems and subconscious inner images from a fresh perspective. The expressive image cards from metaFox offer many possibilities for this approach.

I use the cards to gather participants' associations with the seminar topic.

I've noticed time and again that the images encourage participants to express themselves much more concretely about the subject matter.

Academics, in particular, tend to hide behind jargon or abstract language when talking about themselves or their emotions.

By working with images, we bring their thoughts down to earth and create a space for honest, straightforward conversations.
